Based in Kingston Upon Hull, my client is a market leading manufacturer with a reputation for product quality and service excellence. In line with long term strategic planning the business is experiencing extraordinary growth and the need has arisen to recruit a highly competent Finance Manager to support the Head of Finance in all aspects of Financial Control.

Role Purpose

To support the Head of Finance in all aspects of Financial Control. The Finance Manager will oversee the day-to-day finance and administration activities of the organisation. Managing and mentoring the transactional teams and produce the monthly management accounts.

Responsibilities

• Facilitate the timely provision and preparation of accurate monthly and annual management and financial information.
• Monitor the day-to-day financial operations within the company, such as invoicing, transactions, the period end close procedures and links to the head office payroll team.
• Oversee standard costing and variance analysis to ensure performance is measured accurately and reported.
• Oversee the costing and pricing of new products including bespoke customer requests.
• Management and Supervision of the finance team comprising Accounts Payable, Credit Control, and assistant accountants.
• Working with other members of the senior team and our auditors on matters.
• Oversee the monthly payroll process and act as the link between Production Admin and the Payroll department.
• Business Partnering across the SLT promoting 2-way information sharing and communication to ensure the Finance Function is run effectively and efficiently.
• Seek out methods for minimising financial risk to the company and implement and test the accounting controls and procedures.
• Contribute towards the development of new systems and processes that impact upon or fall within the finance team.
• Prepare the VAT return and stay up to date with relevant VAT rules and legislation.
• Contribute towards the maintenance of financial policies and procedures for the company.
• Understand and adhere to financial regulations and legislation.
• Maintain the fixed asset registers.
• Oversee the mid-month and month end BACS runs and manage any ad hoc payments.
• Oversee the intercompany transactions and balances.
• Support other business functions where suitable, as required.
• Drive for continuous improvement in controls, reporting and systems.
• Review and contribute to the existing controls process and ensure control requirements are given due consideration for new processes.
• Report and monitor actual vs budget at cost centre level.
• Support the Head of Finance and senior leadership team in producing the forecasts and budgets where required.

Candidate Profile:

Qualified ACCA/ACA/CIMA or experienced accountant ideally within a manufacturing environment, you will possess strong Management Accounting experience with a proven ability to convey financial information to non-finance managers in a confident and persuasive manner. You will have proven analytical and reporting skills through advanced knowledge of Microsoft excel in addition to possessing excellent organisational and time management skills as well as attention to detail.
